The community is invited to join Park Middle School staff and students past and present in celebrating its 100th birthday on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
During the event, there will be tours of the building by student volunteers, games, food trucks and opportunities to connect with friends and alumni. Informational talks will be given by Lincoln historian Ed Zimmer at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose room.
This celebration honors the elementary school building that was built at 855 South 8th Street in 1926, named for its location near Lincoln’s first city park. In 1992, Park was remodeled and became a middle school.
