Fifty-one students from five LPS high schools traveled to Kearney on Wednesday, March 20, for the 2024 NSAA State Speech Championships. Several students placed in the top six for their events, and four of the teams placed in the top ten for overall team sweepstakes.

He plays seven different instruments and he’s in four different bands. The young musician was able to incorporate his love for music into his school day by attending one of LPS’ newest focus programs – Bay High.

LPS Citizens Academy sparks community engagement and insightful collaboration
Lincoln Public Schools brings back Citizens Education Academy during the fall of 2023. This is the first time the school district has hosted the academy since the COVID-19 pandemic. More than a dozen Lincoln residents learned a library-sized number of facts about the school district during the free outreach initiative. They toured buildings, listened to presentations from district leaders and formed new friendships over a four-month span.

Community invited to open house celebrating Aviation and Boys and Girls Club addition at North Star High School
The community is invited to a special open house on Monday, Dec. 4, from 5-6:30 p.m. as North Star High School celebrates the completion of a new classroom wing. The new space is a joint venture with community partners that will house the Aviation and Technical Education Focus Program at North Star along with space for the Boys and Girls Club of Lincoln/Lancaster County.
