All students attending Lincoln Public Schools are required to meet a Reading Graduation Demonstration Requirement (RGDR) in order to graduate.* The RGDR is focused on providing evidence a student has reached an expected high-school level of achievement prior to graduation. These requirements are met through performance on the Reading Graduation Demonstration Exam (RGDE), by meeting or exceeding specified scores on other assessments, through specified course work, or by meeting a requirement defined in a student’s IEP.
The RGDE exam is offered each fall and spring. Students who do not pass the exam retake it in subsequent years, until the exam standard is met or a student meets the demonstration through other means.
*Students who were in the graduating class of 2016 or before must also pass a Writing Graduation Demonstration Requirement (WGDR) similar to the RGDR.
