Students take part in national fishing challenge

About 150 high school students participated in a national fishing tournament on Wednesday at Holmes Lake.

The basic purpose of the event was to provide a fun, competitive-light fishing tournament for high school students who have completed the National Fishing in Schools Program (NFSP) course in their school.

Students were paired in teams of two, used catch-and-release, no live bait, and fished from shore using a flycast reel.
