Irving students ready for community art show

Students at Irving Middle School will be showing their artwork at the Meadowlark Coffee & Espresso during the month of January.

Some artist statements:

Owen (Nicest Little Neighborhood): I used colored pencils, my favorite material, for this project. I used warm and cold colors to make houses, trees, and clouds.

Grace (Skull & Flowers): I chose to make this because I like the style, it reminds me of a New Mexican style of art work. The skull was inspired by Georgia O'Keefe. I tried to have contrast between the skull and the flowers by making them abstract and colorful.

Kasen (Layered Cake): I had a hexagon on the floor and used the tool to make walls move to pull it up but i also added layers. I made the more layers by putting a smaller hexagon and pulled it up and then pulled the sides in or out. I tried to make a very colorful cake.
