LPS extends deadline for High School Choice Form to Monday, Feb. 5, 2024

With several informational nights being moved due to winter weather, Lincoln Public Schools announced they have extended the deadline for High School Choice Forms to Monday, Feb. 5, 2024. This will allow families and students plenty of time to attend all of the informational open houses and have conversations before choosing their high school experience.

As a reminder, each incoming ninth grade student is assigned to a high school based on their address. Families can find the high school for their address by going to the LPS website – www.lps.org – and clicking on the Home School Lookup under Essentials. If they want their child to attend a high school other than the home high school assigned to their address, they will need to submit the “High School Choice” form by the new Feb. 5 deadline.

Below are the remaining open houses. Each event begins at 6:30 p.m. at the host high school.

  • Tuesday, Jan. 16 - at North Star High School
  • Wednesday, Jan. 17 - at East High School
  • Thursday, Jan. 18 - at Southwest High School
  • Monday, Jan. 22 - at Southeast High School
  • Tuesday, Jan. 23 - at Lincoln High School
  • Wednesday, Jan.24 - at Northeast High School
  • Thursday, Jan. 29 - at Standing Bear High School

Northwest High School held their event on Wednesday, Jan. 10. If anyone missed the opportunity and would like more information, please contact Principal Cedric Cooper at ccooper@lps.org.

More information about the high school selection process can be found on LPS website: https://home.lps.org/prepare/.
