Students showcase business savvy skills at national FBLA conference

July 13, 2023

At the end of June, 20 high school students from Lincoln Public Schools traveled to Atlanta, Ga., for the 2023 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference. Students qualify for the national conference by placing in the top three for their event at the FBLA State Leadership Conference.

At this year’s conference, students competed in their respective events, attended workshops and networked with students from across the country and around the world, as FBLA chapters from Canada, China and Tanzania were all in attendance.

Students also had a chance to explore Atlanta with tours of the Chick-fil-A headquarters and visits to the World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Aquarium. Students from Lincoln Southwest also opted to check out the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.

Out of the more than 10,000 students competing at this year’s conference, Lincoln Public Schools had two students place in the top five for their respective events. Those results are below.

Nixon Hanna

Lincoln East High School
National runner-up, Economics

Annabelle Kumm
