Lincoln Board of Education to hold work session and public forums to review preliminary proposed budget

The Lincoln Board of Education will hold a work session and several in-person public forums to present and gather feedback on the proposed preliminary budget for the 2023-2024 school year. 

The proposed preliminary budget will first be presented publicly during a special Board of Education work session at the Steve Joel District Leadership Center on Tuesday, June 27, starting at 4:30 p.m. The work session will be livestreamed on the LPS website (lps.org), the LPS channel on YouTube (bit.ly/LPSLive), and on the LNK-TV Education Channel (Allo channel 23, or Spectrum channel 1303).

The community is invited to provide feedback and ask questions on the proposed preliminary budget during a series of in-person public forums:

In-person Budget Public Forums

  • June 28, 5 p.m. in the Northeast High School Cafeteria
  • June 29, 5 p.m. in the East High School Cafeteria
  • July 11, 5 p.m. in the Southwest High School Commons
  • July 12, 5 p.m. in the North Star High School Commons

In addition, staff will host a virtual public budget presentation and answer any questions during a live webinar via Zoom on June 29, 12 p.m. Anyone can go to lps.org and click the link to view the virtual staff presentation and ask staff questions through the Q&A button.
