New Educator Spotlight: Amanda Glaser

Every week, we will be featuring one of our new LPS educators to get to know a little more about them and why they chose to be an educator. This week's New Educator Spotlight is Amanda Glaser, 5th grade teacher at Randolph Elementary.

Building/Department: Randolph

Teaching Assignment/Role: 5th Grade Teacher

Why did you want to become an educator?
My mom was a teacher and I grew up helping in her classroom. She was my biggest role model and I never thought about doing anything else!

What has been your favorite part of working for Lincoln Public Schools?
I have really enjoyed learning about the community and getting to know the staff and students at Randolph.

Did you attend Lincoln Public Schools as a student? If so, which school(s)? If not, where are you from?
No, I am from Omaha and taught in Millard Public Schools for 12 years before moving to Lincoln this summer.

Where did you attend college?
I went to undergrad at Northwest Missouri State, and got my masters from Doane.

What is your favorite part of being an educator?
I love building relationships with students and families. I also enjoy finding creative ways to make learning engaging and fun.

What is a fun fact about you?
I just got married on September 10th, which I planned during my first year in a new city, school district and grade level. Not sure what I was thinking but it all worked out great!
