New Educator Spotlight: Jakob Kemper

Every week, we will be featuring one of our new LPS educators to get to know a little more about them and why they chose to be an educator. This week's New Educator Spotlight is Jakob Kemper, teacher at Saratoga and Hartley elementary schools.

Building/Department: Saratoga Elementary School

Teaching Assignment/Role: K-5 P.E. / Teacher Associate (Currently K-2 Art at Hartley)

Why did you want to become an educator?
I learned a lot from living a physically active and healthy lifestyle and wanted to help guide the next generation through the path that taught me so much and improved how I live my life.

What has been your favorite part of working for Lincoln Public Schools?
Getting to know and learning from the other teachers in the district.

Did you attend Lincoln Public Schools as a student? If so, which school(s)? If not, where are you from?
I went to District 145 schools. I started at Eagle Elementary, then went to Waverly Middle School and Waverly High School.

Where did you attend college?
Wayne State College

What is your favorite part of being an educator?
Watching kids have fun and improving skills they didn't think they could improve.

What is a fun fact about you?
I am cross-dominant with my hands (write with my right and throw with my left).
