New Educator Spotlight: MaKenna Lindgren

Every week, we will be featuring one of our new LPS educators to get to know a little more about them and why they chose to be an educator. This week's New Educator Spotlight is MaKenna Lindgren, music teacher at Lakeview Elementary School.

Building/Department: Lakeview Elementary

Teaching Assignment/Role: Music

Why did you want to become an educator?
I wanted to become an educator because I get to inspire kids and share with them the magic of music!

What has been your favorite part of working for Lincoln Public Schools?
My favorite part of working with LPS so far is just getting to see the other side of things. I was an LPS baby from elementary through high school and it really makes me proud to be a part of this district when I see how things have changed and how we continue to grow for our students.

Did you attend Lincoln Public Schools as a student? If so, which school(s)?
Yes! I went to Randolph Elementary, Lefler Middle, and East High

Where did you attend college?
Doane University!

What is your favorite part of being an educator?
My FAVORITE part of being an educator is all the new relationships I get to make with the students and also all the hugs!

What is a fun fact about you?
I was born on Leap Day so I am technically 5 years old.
