New Educator Spotlight: Sona Buchholz

Every week, we will be featuring one of our new LPS educators to get to know a little more about them and why they chose to be an educator. This week's New Educator Spotlight is Sona Buchholz, sixth grade humanities teacher at Pound Middle School.

Teaching Assignment/Role: 6th Grade Humanities

Why did you want to become an educator?
I wanted to change the lives of students for the better helping them to reach their fullest potential. 

What has been your favorite part of working for Lincoln Public Schools?
I love working at the district I once attended with all of the wonderful people all while creating new relationships with students. 

Did you attend Lincoln Public Schools as a student? If so, which school(s)?
Yes, McPhee, Park/ Lefler, and Lincoln High 

Where did you attend college?
Nebraska Wesleyan University

What is your favorite part of being an educator?
My favorite part about being an educator is the people I work with and the students when they believe in themselves and finally accomplish a goal, the students are MY EVERYTHING! 

What is a fun fact about you?
A few fun facts about me is that my family members also worked for LPS, my birthday goes in numerical order 01/23 ,and that my name means precious gold.
