Southwest students perform in International Thespian Festival

Lincoln Southwest High School was one of only 13 high schools from across the country chosen to perform last week in the International Thespian Festival, a prestigious annual event that was held virtually this year. 

Southwest students, directed by Bob Henrichs, performed “Newsies: The Broadway Musical.” 

Southwest also was invited in 2007 and 2015. Southwest is the only Nebraska school to be invited in the last 30 years.

The Educational Theatre Association puts on the festival to celebrate students' achievements in the performing arts. In addition to their performance, drama students and teachers can participate in workshops, interact with colleges in a college fair and audition process, and meet with industry leaders and Broadway professionals.
