Harvest of Books plants the seeds of reading

Since its inception in 1997, the Harvest of Books, Inc., has distributed more than 184,500 books to first- and second-graders in the public, private and parochial schools of Lincoln. On Tuesday that tradition continued, with roughly 7,000 students receiving a free book.

Students at Norwood Park Elementary were among those who benefiited from this generosity. They not only were able to choose a book, they also had books read to them by represenatives from the Kiwanis and the two Harvest of Books sponsors, the Lincoln Education Association and KFOR radio.
