LPS hosts annual Culinary Conference

Lincoln Public Schools hosted its annual Culinary Conference Nov. 13 at The Career Academy (TCA), with more than 150 LPS students competing in various categories both as teams and individually. Competitors were from all six high schools and TCA.

The day’s winners:

Knife skills - Trinity Wilson, Lincoln Northeast High School.

Appetizers - Ester Costa, Lincoln North Star High School

Garnishes - Mellisha Lambert, Lincoln East High School

Dessert plating - Lisa Fiedrich, Lincoln Southwest High School

Salads - Sara Pa, Lincoln Southeast High School

Entrees, high school division - “Maxadamias,” from Southeast High School

Entrees, The Career Academy division - “Rockefellas”

There also were breakout sessions about various culinary skills throughout the day, led by staff from Southeast Community College.
