Pyrtle hosts annual walk-a-thon fundraiser

Pyrtle Elementary School held its annual walk-a-thon Oct. 31, the largest fundraiser of the year for the school and its PTO.

This walk-a-thon featured a lot more than walking. Students throughout the day were able to rotate between three stations - a bounce house in the gym, dancing in the music room and outside activities that included a lap around the school’s walking path and playing on the jungle gym. Family members were invited to attend, as well.

Students were encouraged to ask family members, family friends and neighbors for donations in conjunction with the day’s activities. The fundraising goal was $5,500.
