Northeast High School inducted the first members of its newly formed chapter of the National Business Honor Society during a ceremony Thursday morning in the school’s media center.

Northeast is only the second high school in Nebraska with a chapter of the honor society. For a school to have a chapter, its business teachers must be members of the National Business Education Association. For a student to be a member of their school’s chapter, they must be a junior or senior, have at least a 3.0 GPA overall and a 3.5 for their business courses.

Teachers and family members were on hand Thursday to celebrate the induction of the following students into the Northeast chapter: Huda Abdu Nasab; Rana Aribi; Thomas Brennan; Valentina Fowler; Jennifer Hidalgo-Romero; Molly Houser; Heidi Jones; Abby Kudym; Jacob Meyer; Abby Neill; Nancy Nguyen; Hannah Ochsner; Ryan Secord; Taylor Swenson; and Aaron Wulf.

The chapter’s advisors are business teachers Jocelyn Crabtree, Jeff Fagler, Dave Mercer and Deb Wolken.
