First responders honored at Maxey Patriot Day parade

Lincoln's first responders and military service members - many who are parents and grandparents of Maxey Elementary students - were honored today during a special appreciation parade around the hallways. 

Students lined the halls with special signs and clapped as the parade wound through the school, ending near the office where the Boy Scouts presented the colors. Students then joined in saying the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the National Anthem. The event was organized as a special tribute on Patriot Day.
