Google Gmail
Google Mail (Gmail) is a web-based email service that provides Students the ability to receive notifications from Google Docs, Synergy Communications, and email from Teachers. NOTE: Elementary and middle school students are not allowed to send email messages to other students. Computing Services has the platform set to not deliver student to student mail at elementary and middle school but are able to send and receive email with LPS staff. Students do receive email notifications from a number of systems used in LPS (Google Classroom, Help Desk, Destiny, etc). Elementary and middle school students will not receive an email notification when a Google Drive item is shared with them by another student, and will instead, find the item in their “Shared with me” area of Google Drive. High School students are able to message other students and staff.
