Welcome to Special Education
Our mission is to provide quality educational opportunities for students with disabilities from birth to age 21. It is our aim to improve educational outcomes for all children with disabilities through collaborative efforts among students, families, educators and the community alike.
The Special Education Department Goals are:
Goal 1. Learning: Graduation Rates
- Lincoln Public Schools' Special Education Department will support improvement of graduation rates by building the capacity and skills of coordinators and teachers.
Goal 2. Public Engagement Plan
- Lincoln Public Schools' Special Education Department will support public engagement by involving parents in their children's learning.
Goal 3. Resources-Diverse Staff
- Lincoln Public Schools' Special Education Department will support resources by gaining cultural proficiency, increasing collaborative relationships with other departments and community agencies and using resources to support student learning.
