Karen Hand: Athletic Director (436-1811, khand@lps.org)
Karen Hand coordinates the athletic program for high schools.
She works directly with the high school athletic directors
and also coordinates the scheduling of shared athletic field
space.
Adam Bonesteel: Assistant Athletic Director (436-1602, abonest@lps.org)
Adam Bonesteel oversees the middle school athletic program
and the high school and middle school intramurals. He works
with the activity directors from each school to coordinate
the athletics and intramurals.
2009 Summer Athletic Clinics
The Lincoln Public Schools offer athletic clinics for any student who will be enrolled in the 3rd through 12th grade in September 2008. The clinics will be conducted to teach basic fundamentals of the activities with no inter-clinic competitions being held. Any student may register for any clinic at any school and it is permissible to register for more than one clinic in the same activity or a variety of activities. High School Student Athletic Pass*** ***Only for High School students and must be purchased at the school which they are attending. ***If purchased at the time they are issued their Student ID, an icon will be placed on the ID indicating the purchase allowing the student to show only their school ID to gain admittance to an athletic event. ***If purchased after the time of ID issuance, a paper ticket will be issued. The students school ID and issued ticket must then be presented together to gain admittance to an athletic event. |

To purchase athletic tickets, you may do one of the following:
- Go to one of the high schools (athletic office or main office)
- Come to the District Athletic Office on 59th & O
- Send an email to abonest@lps.org and include the types of passes you want, how many you will be purchasing and when you will be picking them up.
- Send a self addressed stamped envelope along with payment to: Lincoln Public Schools Athletic Department, 5901 "O" Street, Lincoln, NE 68510. Include a memo stating the types of passes and amount you are purchasing

Athletics in Middle Schools
Intramural and extramural athletics are offered for middle school students in Lincoln Public Schools. Sports offered at each school vary depending on student interest, facility availability and coaching staff. Extramural competition between teams or individuals from any LPS middle school is limited to seventh and eighth graders. Sixth graders may participate in the weekly intramurals, but may not compete between schools on Saturday mornings. This is a Department of Education rule (Rule 10).
Athletics in High Schools
Lincoln Public Schools students at the high school level have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports.

End of Season Athletic Participation Student Survey
Please take a few moments to complete this student survey. Your experience is important to us. Your answers help us improve our programs. Please begin this survey by "clicking" on your school and then "clicking" on the sport you have just completed. The schools provided team rosters. Only those athletes on the team rosters will be able to take the survey. Check with your coach or athletic director if you have any difficulty.
Survey results will be collected at the LPS District Office. The final results, not individual athlete's responses, will be shared with athletic directors.
