March 19 Learning Lunch: 'Twenty-five years of student-built houses'

Lincoln Northeast High School industrial technology teacher Bob Freese has been helping students build houses for families in northeast Lincoln for more than 25 years, most of those in partnership with the Lincoln Housing Authority. At an event last year to celebrate the latest student-built house, Freese said, "Every one of these (houses) I go by, it makes me feel pretty good. The kids learned a lot. There is a family living in that, making a home out of that. It makes the community just a little bit nicer.” Hear more from Freese about this amazing community partnership at the next LPS Learning Lunch on March 19 at the LPS District Office, 5905 O St. The program begins at noon, followed by audience questions at roughly 12:30. Learning Lunches are open to the public, as well as LPS staff. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch - dessert is provided.
