Dreaming of Spring? Start Some Seeds!

Around 30 people joined LPS Sustainability at Northwest High School for the third quarter Garden Gathering. After a tour of the rooftop garden, Community Crops led a seed starting training with attendees and offered helpful tips for troubleshooting common problems. It was a great night of learning, networking, and getting our hands a little dirty! To view the event slides and Community Crops’ resources on starting seeds, click here.

Sew Much Fun at Don Sherrill

We partnered with the City of Lincoln Health Department to bring a PLC Day Sustainability Experience to Donald D. Sherrill Education Center last month! Students learned how repairing is an important addition to the reduce, reuse, recycle trio they’re already familiar with. Following the presentation, everyone got to practice their sewing skills!

High School Staff Plug In to Solar Training

LPS Sustainability partnered with Nelnet Renewable Energy last month to bring solar energy training to the staff at Standing Bear and Northwest High Schools. The informational session covered navigating the live dashboard and making connections to curriculum. Anyone can view up-to-the-minute readouts from the solar arrays at Standing Bear and Northwest high schools!
