About Us
School Nurses~Supporting Student Success
The staff of the LPS health services program includes Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and unlicensed Health Technicians. Each school building has designated personnel who are responsible for first aid, emergency response, medication administration, and minor illness care. The Registered School Nurse supervises the health program in assigned buildings. Licensed nurses are provided where needed in order to perform skilled nursing services. Health Services is in the Department of Student Services, with Mr. Terry Macholan, Director of Student Services. Judy Zabel, RN, MS, NCSN is the Health Services Supervisor.
The district is also served by the Medical Advisory Committee, a volunteer group of health and medical professionals in the community who provide consultation to the district on topics which impact or relate to student health, safety, learning, and overall well-being.
