Finalists selected for name of new LPSDO Development

Three finalists were selected as possible names for the new Lincoln Public Schools District Office development – submitted from the LPS/Community Naming Committee on Thursday.

The finalists are, in order of preference:

·      Infinity Square

·      Eastridge Square or Eastridge Plaza or Eastridge Commons

·      Lincoln Plaza

LPS officials will now work with Continuum Partners, the company that is helping to develop the corner at 59^th and O streets, to arrive at a final recommendation – which will go to the Lincoln Board of Education onTuesday for consideration.

Members of the Naming Committee are: Lincoln Board of Education members Katie McLeese Stephenson (chair), Barb Baier and Ed Zimmer; and community members Karen Peppmuller, Shari Anderson, Stephanie Dinger, Kevin Pringle, Ed Swotek, Ann Powers and Amy Prenda. 

Other names that were finalists included: The District at O Street, Gateway Commons, O Street Commons, Lyncrest Commons, Education Square or Plaza, Midtown Square, Frontier Plaza – or Square, The Commons on O Street, New Horizons Plaza, Educational Epicenter, LEAP (Lincoln Education and Activity Plaza), The O Street District, The Phoenix, Learning Square and Opportunity Commons.
