Data Warehouse
Originally published on: October 27, 2009

The Lincoln Public Schools (LPS) Data Warehouse is a repository of information aimed at supporting teachers in their quest to improve student achievement. The Data Warehouse was created and is maintained through a partnership of LPS Computing Services, LPS Curriculum and Evaluation and Assessment - to develop and establish a web application that gives teachers, staff, administrators and schools improved access to a wide variety of data. This information assists educators in making decisions about instruction.

Access to Data by login type - Different types of logins (Teacher, Data Coach, etc.) have access to different kinds of data in the data warehouse. This table summarizes the differences.
Data Warehouse Standard Queries Working List - The Standard Queries found in the Web Analyzer for data coaches and administrators will satisfy common data requests. These Standard Queries provide a wide range of data relevant to many data requests (they are chunky, including many attributes). Data coaches and administrators will be able to limit the results to fit data requests (e.g. limit by building, grades, year, and specific attributes).
Professional Learning Communities, IEP teams, Administrators and others in need of student data may request data from the data coach. The following document contains examples of data requests.
Verifying results - The final step in the query building/modifying process is “Verification of Results.” Whenever we get data, from any source, it’s important to check the accuracy of the data before they are used. The document found by clicking here describes some ways to check your data AND lists any current attributes which are not representing data accurately.
