Personnel
Title I funds supplement twelve elementary schools: Arnold, Belmont, Clinton, Elliott, Everett, Hartley, Hawthorne, Huntington, McPhee, Norwood Park, Saratoga, and West Lincoln and respective private schools participating in the program within these same attendance areas. The central administrative staff is located at the district office. Nina Beck [1997] focuses on services to private schoolsand the homeless. Expectations for teachers
Title I provides supplement services. All teachers would be expected to coordinate instructional strategies, materials, and information for students with colleagues. The overall purpose of the program is to improve all schools in meeting both high performance and content standards for all students. All twelve buildings provide services through school-wide efforts.
Programs and services
The focus is on prevention with a family-centered approach. Family engagement and education activities are vital components. All children and families who attend any of these twelve schools receive extensive supplemental support.
Questions and answers
1. How does a school become eligible?
Schools are identified as eligible based on the percent of children in the attendance area who qualify for free or reduced lunches. All children who reside in these schools are eligible for services.
