APPENDIX A

Salary Ranges

Notes about the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 salary ranges and fringe benefits:

  • There is district contribution of $325 per month for those administrators purchasing a district single health insurance policy and a district contribution of $450 per month for those administrators purchasing a district family health insurance policy in 2006-2007.  In 2007-2008, there is district contribution of $350 per month for those administrators purchasing a district single health insurance policy and a district contribution of $600 per month for those administrators purchasing a district family health insurance policy in 2006-2007.
  • The indexed salary schedule is replaced by salary ranges.  Each full-time administrator will receive $3,501 salary increase in 2006-2007 and a 3.69% increase in 2007-2008, exclusive of any longevity pay.  The salary schedule also includes a listing of the administrative positions assigned to each level of the 2006-07 and 2007-08 salary ranges.
  • Administrators are eligible for a long-service increment of $2,500, $3,250 or $4,000 depending upon length of Lincoln Public Schools administrative service (see Appendix A). Eligibility begins in the fiscal year following the completion of the number of years of continuous LPS service as an administrator. An approved leave of absence does not cause a break in continuous service, but the time away from work during the leave of absence does not count as credited work experience. If an employee’s first workday with the school district is prior to October 1, that year will count as a year of service toward eligibility for the long service increment.
  • In the event that either levy election, judicial action, legislative action, or the petition process results in changes in the constitution or current statutes changing the funding available to Lincoln Public Schools, either the administrative group or the district may reopen the meet-and-confer process for the purposes of modifying the salary and fringe benefits.

APPENDIX B

The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993

Notes about FMLA:

  1. The appendix that follows is the official employee notification form required by the U.S. Department of Labor.
  2. Some specifics regarding Lincoln Public Schools:
    1. The Act requires employers to grant up to 12 weeks of job-protected unpaid leave in a 12-month period if eligibility criteria are met. The plan year for FMLA is a "rolling year". A rolling year is a 12-month period measured backward from the date an employee last used any FMLA leave.
    2. Eligible workers must have been employed for at least one year by LPS and have worked 1,250 hours within the 12-month period prior to the first day of the leave.
    3. Employees will be required to substitute remaining applicable paid leave prior to using unpaid leave. In other words, the total of job protected paid and unpaid leave is 12 weeks.
    4. During the unpaid leave the school district must pay the same portion of the employee's health insurance as it did during paid time.
  3. Any questions regarding FMLA should be directed to the Employee Benefits Specialist in Human Resources (436-1593).
